SMITH Art & Culture believes in a world shaped by more voices, deeper exchange, and greater possibility. Our mission is to help artists and cultural organizations imagine what could exist, then build the relationships, platforms, and opportunities that allow those ideas to take root. We see culture as a space for connection, discovery, and change, and work to create a future where more people can contribute to it, experience it, and see themselves within it.
Our Founder
Amber Smith is a cultural strategist, art advisor, producer, and writer working across contemporary art and culture. Over the past seven years, she has worked with artists, galleries, nonprofits, and cultural organizations across Europe and the United States, developing strategies, programs, partnerships, and communications that support both new and established initiatives.
Amber’s work often begins at the early stages of a project, helping define its direction, build the right relationships, and develop the structures needed to bring it to the public. Alongside her cultural strategy work, Amber writes about contemporary art, culture, and philosophy.
* As of October 2026, SMITH Art & Culture will transition to select short-term volunteer engagements aligned with our mission and ethos as our founder, Amber Smith, begins her new role as Director of Communications & Programming for Alfredo Jaar’s new initiative, AJS Projects.
